Welcome to my podcast, Blissful Spinster. I'm your host, Cris Graves, and I'm a writer-director. Join me as I explore what it means to be happy, single, and a woman in her 50s. I'm simultaneously documenting getting my first narrative feature film, Alone Girl, made. I hope by sharing my journey, I can help shed light on what it takes to get an independent film made. From securing the financing to ultimately getting the film distributed, Along Girl is a coming-of-middle-aged story wrapped in a (un)romantic comedy. The script is super personal and loosely based on my own story, so I'll also be exploring topics that relate to me navigating this world as a single woman for half a century as it's a big part of what makes me the filmmaker that I am and quite frankly, the human that I am.
